Scholarship for Pablo Karaman - Interview

Last time one could read about Pablo Karaman, who was awarded by the Richard-Wagner-Verband Bamberg e.V.
In the meantime we had the chance to talk to Pablo again and get to know something more about this special scholarship he was decorated with.

Pablo, how did you get this award?

"I was awarded and got the scholarschip for my part in "La Bohème." (male leading role; Sommer Oper Bamberg 2009).

And how do you feel about that?

"I am really happy and honored about this. It is a great possibility to leran more about Wagner's operas and his city."

Can you tell us something more about this scholarship? What exactly is its content and why was it arranged?

"The scholarship was made according to Wagner's wish, to make his music accessible to the general public. The scholarship consists of visiting three operas during the festival and various introductions and other activities. It is a great way to participate in the festival."

Did you already have a point of contact with Wagner and his music in the past?

"I already started listening to Wagner in Argentina, where are many "Wagnerians". If asked which opera I like to sing in the future I will chose Lohengrin. But it all depends on how my voice develops and which "street it takes"."

Pablo, thank you very much for the talk.
